Deep Chip Scores Third Career Victory
Deep Chip--
a freshman son of Chip Chip Hooray, out of the Supergill mare Ceremonial, scored a 2:01.2 victory in a $25,100 Ohio State Fair 2-year-old colt stakes at Scioto Downs on July 31. The youngster was in rein to trainer Jim Dailey, who was piloting the colt for owners Kathy Ratcliff and Jerry Zosel of Ohio. Deep Chip now has three victories in just three lifetime tries and earnings of $32,550.

scored a 1:54.1 career best clocking en route to winning the $52,038 When You Wishuponastar Stake at Mohawk on July 31. The daughter of Dragon Again--Cindys Place--Artsplace picked up second career victory with Mike Saftic at the lines for trainer John Pentland, pushing her earnings to $36,259. Backstreet Sweetie was sold by Peninsula Farm for $27,000 as a yearling and is now owned by Mike Saftic, Natalie Pentland and Karen Carroll of Ontario.

who was raised and sold by Peninsula for $190,000 at the 2006 Harrisburg Yearling Sale--captured her $47,999 New York Sires Stakes test for 3-year-old trotting fillies on July 31 at Vernon Downs. Valbruna was guided by driver Jeff Gregory for trainer Erv Miller as she notched her first victory of her sophomore season in 1:56.1. The daughter of Conway Hall--Myth--Lindy Lane now has $115,878 in career earnings for owner Perretti Racing Stable and Black Horse Racing Stable of New Jersey.

, a daughter of Credit Winner--Sassys Victory--Victory Dream, finished a strong second in a $47,999 New York Sires Stakes test on July 31 at Vernon Downs.  This 3-year-old fily has career earnings of $56,622 and a mark of 1:58f.  She is trained by Paul Kelley and driven by Brian Mattison for owner Kelley Racing Stable of New York and Bill Weaver of New Jersey.  She was bred by Bill Weaver, and was foaled and raised at Peninsula Farm, selling for $65,000 as a yearling.  Her half-sister, Sassy Little Tune, sells in the peninsula consignment at the Harrisburg Yearling Sale, Nov. 3-8, 2008.

a gelded son of Valley Victor, out of the Meadow Road mare Valley Regina, finished a close second in a $6,000 test at The Red Mile on July 31. This speedy youngster was piloted by trainer John Duer for Carter Duer and Bill Weaver of Kentucky and New Jersey.

Chip Chip Hooray Fillies Shine in Ohio State Fair Stakes at Scioto Downs
Mocha Jo,
a daughter of Chip Chip Hooray--Jo's Gesture--Super Ben Joe, scored her fifth win in six career starts on July 30 at Scioto Downs. Driven by trainer Sam Noble, Mocha Joe trotted off to a 1:59.3f clocking, a career best, to win a $23,800 Ohio State Fair Stakes. This lovely filly pushed her career earnings to $32,142 for owner Patricia Davis of Ohio.

Northmedo Esther, by Chip Chip Hooray, out of the Striking Sahbra mare Northmedo Blessing, finished second behind the above rival with driver Chris Page in the sulky for trainer Mike Medors. Northmedo Esther has a 1-2-1 record from four career starts for owner the Northmedo Stable of Ohio and a mark of 2:02h taken at Northfield Park on July 26.

Get Chipped captured the other $23,800 Ohio State Fair Stakes division for driver Russell Swartz and trainer Marty Wollam in a career best of 2:01.4. This daughter of Chip Chip Hooray--Patti Page--American Winner now has $38,345 in career earnings for owners Acadia Farms and Pat Holden of Ohio.

Shady Chip was third in that same race, for driver Kurt Sugg and trainer Charles Myrick. Owned by the Second Chance Stables of Ohio, Shady Chip is by Chip Chip Hooray--Whitershadeofpale--Dancer's Victory. To date she has amassed $8,257 in career earnings.

--who was raised and sold by Peninsula Farm for $25,000 at the 2007 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg, captured her maiden victory on July 30 at The Meadowlands. The daughter of Cantab Hall--Naked Lyric--Yankee Glide stopped the timer in 1:59, winning by a neck for driver Tim Tetrick and trainer Stephan Lind in a $10,000 Kindergarden Stake. Her full brother--Hair--sells in the Peninsula Farm consigment at Harrisburg, Nov. 3-8, 2008.

captured a Pennsylvania Sires Stakes test for 3-year-old trotting fillies in a career best of 1:56.2 with driver Mike Wilder at the lines for trainer John Duer at The Meadows on July 29. The daughter of Tagliabue--Custom Yankee--Muscles Yankee now has $54,670 in career earnings from eight lifetime starts with three wins and five seconds for Peninsula Farm, owner.

finished third in a $39,200 Ontario Sires Stakes, Gold elimination on July 29, trotting in 2:03.4 for Trevor Ritchie and trainer Paul Buer.  The 2-year-old son by Striking Sahbra--Bo--Armbro Illiad had finished second in a $40,000 Gold Elimination at Kawartha Downs on July 15 for these same connections and owner TW Wilhelmsen of Boca Raton, Florida.  Matador Bo was sold by Peninsula at the 2007 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale for $20,000.

, who was bred, raised and sold by Peninsula and Arlene & Jules Siegel, captured a qualifier on July 29 at Indiana Downs in 2:01.4. The freshman son of Broadway Hall--Haut Brion--Pine Chip was driven by John Taylor for trainer Brooke Nickells, and is owned by Petrus Wolter of Holland.

I'll Wait For You, a daughter by Kadabra--Blue Cookie--Baltic Speed captured her maiden victory on July 28 at Mohawk in rein to Paul MacDonell in 1:59.4. This speedy filly was harnessed by trainer Dan Creighton for owner Danterra Racing Stable of Ontario. Her half-brother--Get More Blue, by Valley Victor, sells at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, Oct. 1-5, 2008.

Elusive Desire Third in Ontario Sires Stakes
Elusive Desire, a daughter of Angus Hall--Valley Amber--Valley Victory, finished third in her second career start on July 28 at Mohawk in an Ontario Sires Stakes test for freshmen fillies. Paul MacDonell was at the lines for trainer Mike Keeling, and owners PC Wellwood Enterprises, H Charles Armstrong and Robert Fasken of Ontario.  Elusive Desire was raised and sold by Peninsula Farm at the 2007 Harrisburg Sale for $65,000.

captured a Kentucky Sire Stakes event in 1:59.4 at The Red Mile on July 27, in rein to trainer Randy Jerrell. It was the fifth win in six tries for the freshman son of Revenue S--Shattered--Bonefish for owner Marion Bowles of Kentucky. This youngster was bred, raised and sold by Peninsula Farm for $20,000 at the 2007 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

scored career victory 20 in rein to AJ McCarthy at Chester Downs on July 27. Trainer John Duer harnessed the 7-year-old son of Jenna's Beach Boy--Adjust My Halo to score in 1:51.2. Shattered Halo has career earnings of $349,759 and a record of p, 5, 1:49.1s for owners Peninsula Farm and Sam Bowie of Lexington, Kentucky. His half-brother, It's Tilted, (by Cam's Card Shark) sells at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, Oct. 1-5, 2008.

who was raised and sold by Peninsula for $12,000 at the 2007 Forest City Sale, notched his first career victory in 2:05.1 at Clinton Raceway in Ontario on July 27. The son of Striking Sahbra--Meghan's Memories--Mystic Park was steered by co-owner Fred Jamieson for trainer and co-owner Fred Murray in a wire-to-wire performance. The colt now has $9,900 for his partners that also include Renato Confortin of Canada.

, a daughter of Like A Prayer, out of the American Winner mare Nannina Ambrosio, finished second by half a length in a $5,000 Kentucky Fair Stake on July 27 at The Red Mile. Trainer Jeff Smith piloted the filly, who sold in the Peninsula Farm consignment at the 2007 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale for $50,000. Nans Prayer has a mark of 3, Q2:02.1 and $8,033 for owners James and Fred Everhart of Ohio. Her half-sister, Nannina--will be offered for sale in the Peninsula Farm consignment at the 2008 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, Oct. 1-5.

, a daughter by Muscles Yankee, out of the Balanced Image mare Savvy Yankee, finished second in a $19,800 2-year-old stake at Moahwk on Juy 27 in 2:02.4 for driver Dagfin Henriksen. Per Henricksen trains the filly for owner Thomas Grini of Norway.  Her full sister--Smarter Than Smart--sells in the Peninsula Farm consignment at Harrisburg, Nov. 3-8, 2008.

Bruschette,
the 4-year-old daughter of Andover Hall--Foot Bowl, finished a strong second in the $250,000 Classic Oaks Final on July 26 at The Meadowlands. The one and 1/16 mile trot was timed in 2:004. Bruschette, who is owned by Caroline Gerry of New York, was driven by Ron Pierce for trainer Jan Johnson and pushed her career earnings to over $200,000 by virtue of her second place finish.

The daughter of Muscles Yankee--Timberlassie--Pine Chip was driven by Tim Tetrick for trainer Ross Crogahan and owners Jon Erdner of Pennsylvania and William Neumeister of California. One Tough Lass was foaled, raised and sold by Peninsula Farm and her full brother--Triathalon Champ--is part of the Peninsula Farm consignment that will sell at the Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg, Nov. 3-8, 2008.

, a son of Self Possessed--Donven Promise, finished third to Crazed in his $70,000 Hambletonian Elimination on July 26 at The Meadowlands. Driven by Mike Lachance for trainer Ron Gurfein, Kajan Kooker solidified a starting berth in the 2008 Hambletonian via his third place finish. Owned by M Meinzinger and Jerry Silva of New York, and Sampson Street Stables of Pennsylvania, Kajan Kooker was foaled, raised and sold by Peninsula Farm.

, who was foaled and raised by Peninsula Farm, captured the $191,206 Canadian Breeders Championship on July 26 at Mohawk Raceway. The daughter of Kadabra--Pizza Dolce--Conway Hall stopped the timer in 1:55.3 for driver Paul MacDonell and trainer Kevin O'Reilly. This speedy lass now has ten career wins and $461,218 in earnings for owner Davd McDuffee of Nashua, New Hampshire.

finished second in the $166,723 Canadian Breeders Championship on July 26 at Mohawk Raceway. The son of Angus Hall--Fiery Chip was reined by Randy Waples for trainer Mark Staecy, and upped his seasonal earnings to $69,693 for owners David Reid,
Malcom G Man Son Hing, Dave McDonald and AK Malik Stable of Canada.

(Chip Chip Hooray--Oomph--Well Done) scored his third straight victory in as many lifetime starts by winning a $2,211 OHFS at the Pike County Fair on July 26 in 2:07.2. Driver Ty Van Rhoden was at the lines for trainer Russell Briton and owner John Hauman of Newark, Ohio. The colt now has $3,296 in career earnings for these connections.

Chip And Run (Chip Chip Hooray--Rachel Rain--Speed In Action) notched his first victory of the year in the $2,208 OHFS for 3-year-old trotting colts and gelding at Washington Court House on July 26. The speedy sophomore stopped the timer in 2:06.2 for traineri-driver Huge Beatty, Jr., and pushed his seasonal bankroll to $9,774. He owns a lifetime mark of 2:03.1f taken in a Scioto Downs qualifier earlier this year and has $18,414 in career earnings for owner Steven McCoy of Columbus, Ohio.

Mocha Jo (Chip Chip Hooray--Jo's Gesture--Super Ben Joe) notched her fourth career victory in 2:11.2 for trainer-driver Chip Noble in the $3,856 OHFS at the Washington Court House Fair on July 26. The freshman filly now has a 2:01.4f mark (taken earlier in the year at Scioto Downs) with $20,242 in career earnings for owner Patricia Davis of Ohio.

S T's Hooray (Chip Chip Hooray--Oopsie--Lucky Almahurst) scored his third victory of the season by winning a $2,208 OHFS for 3-year-old colts and geldings on July 26 at Washington Court House. Jeff Nisonger was in the sulky for trainer Charles Ross as the gelding trotted to a 2:07 victory. S T's Hooray now has $7,339 in earnings in 2008 and $19,529 in career earnings for owner Pinckney Brewer of Ohio.

Trainer Roger Welch harnessed Maxter to win a $12,000 division of the Thundercrack series for 3-year-old trotters on July 25 at Hawthorne. The son of Valley Victor--Oprah--Big Sur led wire-to-wire for driver Brent Holland to score his seventh sraight win of the year for owners Turndorf Racing of California. This gelding now has $93,735 in seasonal earnings and $251,940 earned lifetime from a career record of 14 wins, eight thirds and three seconds in 28 trips postward.

Another Welch trainee, Mood Man, finished second to his above stablemate, trotting in 1:57.1 for driver Todd Warren and owner Stanley Crowe of Ohio. Mood Man has now amassed a 3--2-4 record from 12 seasonal starts for $31,227 in earnings in 2008

--a daughter of Chip Chip Hooray, out of the Cornstalk mare Cornsilk Sue, captured an $2,341 Ohio Sires Stakes test for sophomore trotting fillies at Washington Court House on July 25.  Chip Noble was in the sulky for trainer Tommy Smiley and owner Marcia Miller and Deborah Miller-Crooks as the filly trotted to her first career victory in 2:07.4.

Victoria Hall
cruised to a 1:59.2 win for driver Mike Oosting and trainer Roger Welch on July 24 at Hawthorne. The daughter of Valley Victor--Graceland Hall--Garland Lobell snared a $12,000 division of the Mogo GoGoGo series at the Stickney one-miler, her third win of the year in 20 starts for owners Obermeier & Quaid Stables of Illinois.

Another daughter of Valley Victor, Cardinal Speedy, finished a close second in this same one mile test at Hawthorne. Cardinal Speedy, out of the Croydon Hanover mare Pferdchen, finished one length behind Victoria Hall for driver Dean Magee and trainer Homer Hochstetler. She had won the previous leg of the Mogo GoGoGo Series at Hawthorne on July 17 for these same connections, and has a 1-1-2 record from 13 seasonal starts for owners M&J Stables of Illinois.

Peninsula Grads Win Freshman PASS

and Knoxtrot Hall each won their respective divisions of a Pennsylvania Sires Stakes event on July 24 at The Meadows.

PJ Clark, a son of Broadway Hall--Add A Lil Bourbon--Donerail, stopped the timer in 1:59.1f for trainer Trond Smedshammer. It was his first career start and he picked up $15,247 for the partnership of Little E LLC of New York, and Brittany Farms and the Dynasty Stable of Kentucky. PJ Clark was sold by Peninsula Farm for $60,000 at the 2007 Lexington Selected Sale.

Knoxtrot Hall, by Broadway Hall, out of the Tabor Lobell mare Knox Trot, notched his fifth career victory for driver Dave Palone in 1:59.3 in the other PASS test that same day. He is trained by Linda Toscano for owner Richard Gutnick of Pennsylvania and has career earnings of $39,052. Knoxtrot Hall is a $23,000 graduate of the 2007 Lexington Selected Sale in the Peninsula Farm consignment, and has a half-brother by Ken Warkentin known as Commander K, that sells in the 2008 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, Oct. 1-5.

posted a strong, second-place finish in 1:53.2 in a $15,000 freshman race on July 23 at The Meadowlands. Steered by Hall of Fame reinsman John Campbell for trainer Mike Hall, the daughter of Cam's Card Shark was bred, raised and sold by Peninsula Farm at the 2007 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale for $7,000. To date she has earned $68,945 and taken a freshman record of p,2,1:58.3h for owners Russell McKinnen and David Banks of Delaware.

a daughter of Cantab Hall--Naked Lyric--Yankee Glide, won a 2-year-old qualifying race at The Poconos on July 23 in rein to Peter Wallinder for trainer Staffan Lind in 1:59.1. This speedy filly, who was raised and sold for $25,000 by Peninsula Farm at the 2007 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg, has a full yearling brother--HAIR--who sells at the 2008 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg.

Petrucelli
--a freshman daughter by International Chip, out of the Valley Victor mare Touch Of Victory--scored her first pari-mutuel win on July 22 at Hawthorne for driver, trainer and co-owner Walter "Butch" Paisley. Petruccelli trotted to a three and a quarter length victory, stopping the timer in 2:01.2, with a :28.3 final quarter brush.

a daughter of Chip Chip Hooray--Queens Pizzazz--Arnies Exchange, socred a wire-to-wire triumph in 2:09.4 at the Mt Vernon, Ohio fair on July 22. She was piloted by Kurt Sugg for trainer and co-owner Sharry Starner and co-owner Richard Mairs.

Bouttofindout--by Chip Chip Hooray, out of the Well Done mare Oomph--trotted to a 2:07 gate-to-wire triumph for driver Ty Van Rhoden on July 22 at Mt Vernon, Ohio. This freshman gelding is trained by Russell Britton for owner John Hauman of Newark, Ohio.

finished third in a Pennsylvania Sire Stakes test for 3-year-old trotting fillies on July 22 at The Poconos. Tim Tetrick was in the suly behind the daughter of Tagliabue--Shan Riches--Armbro Goal for trainer Jim Arledge, as the filly was clocked in 1:55.3. Chanteuse also finished third in the $25,135 Reynolds Stake on July 11 at Pocono with Dave Palone at the controls.  This filly now has a 2-1-3 record from 16 career starts and $23,323 for owner Sterlingbrook Farms of Sheldonville, MA.  Her half-sister--Ellen's Isle--by Windsong's Legacy, sells in the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, Oct. 1-5, 2008.

captured OHFS on July 20 at the Marysville, Ohio county fair track in 2:04.4 for trainer-driver Mark Winters. The 3-year-old daughter of Chip Chip Hooray--Rose Run Fancy--Armbro Laser now has $33,855 in career earnings and $14,398 in seasonal earnings for owner Daniel Mitchell of Michigan and Peter Hardy of Connecticut.

and Hurrikanebiggeorge both finished third in their Peter Haughton eliminations on July 19 at The Meadowlands. Both youngsters were raised and sold by Peninsula farm. Flanders Field sold for $160,000 at 2007 Harrisburg sale, while Hurrikanebiggeorge sold for $7,500 at the 2007 Pennsylvaina Preffered sale at Harrisburg.

The son of Valley Victor--Nina Yorktown--Pride N Pleasure was driven by Tim Tetrick and trained by Dirk Simpson for Samuel Bowie of Lexington, Ky, and now has $538,375 in career earnings for these connections.

and driver Dave Palone score in the $39,678 second division of the Tompkins-Geers for 2-year-old pacing fillies on July 19 at Tioga Downs. It was the first win of the career for the freshmen daughter of Jenna’s Beach Boy out of the Artsplace mare Wonderbolt. The mile of 1:55.2 established the lifetime benchmark for the $45,000 yearling purchase for the All Star Racing Inc. of Towaco, N.J. Shaghai Lil's full sister--Makes You Wonder--sells inthe Peninsula Farm consignment at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, Oct. 1-5, 2008.

In this same race at Tioga Downs, Harper Lee (Real Artist--Yankee Fresca--Western Hanover) finished second with trainer Todd Schadel in the sulky, who owns have of this filly with Roger Hammer.  Her half-sister--Hokie Spirit--by Dragon Again, sells in the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale on Oct 1-5, 2008.

Peninsula Farm will be selling the first crop of 19 Kentucky eligible sons and daughters of Valley Victor this fall. A total of 12 colts and 7 fillies will be offered at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, Oct. 1-5, 2008.

Taylor owns the filly in partnership with fellow southerner Kevin Dixon. Miss Vickie's victory was the second straight win of her brief career. She scored in her pari-mutuel debut, in a wire-to-wire effort at Balmoral on June 22, in 2:03.3 with Taylor at the lines. Her career earnings now stand at $5,860.

That morning, Taylor steered the 3-year-old gelding RedRover (Valley Victor--Cardinal Suma--Armbro Charger) to win his Hawthorne qualifier in 1:59.3 by six and 3/4 lengths. Walter Paisley piloted the 2-year-old colt Petruccelli--a bay daugther of International Chip, out of the Valley Victor mare Touch of Victory, to a 2:05 clocking, finishing second in her qualifying debut at the Stickney one-miler.
