Whata Winner second in Empire Breeders Classic Trot
Whata Winner
finished a strong second in the $235,900 Empire Breeders Classic Trot at Vernon Downs on May 31. The 3-year-old altered son of Credit Winner--Whatta Chippie--Pine Chip was clocked in 1:55.2 with trainer and co-owner Jim Doherty at the lines for fellow owners Tom Dillon and Terrax, Inc. Whata Winner was bred by the George Shotly Stable and sold at the 2008 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale for $165,000 in the Peninsula Farm consignment. Whata Winner's Andover Hall half-brother--WHATA BUZ--will sell in the Peninsula Farm consignment at the 2010 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.


May 30, 2010--Chester, Pennsylvania
Lisagain wins in 1:50.3 at Chester
Lisagain,
a 4-year-old son of Dragon Again-Lisheen-Abercrombie, paced to a winning 1:50.3 in a $28,000 conditioned pace at Chester on May 30. Mike Lachance was at the lines for trainer Erv Miller and owners John Carver and Mystical Marker Farm. Lisagain was bred by Timothy Rooney and sold by Peninsula Farm for $260,000 at the 2007 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg. His full brother--LISLAUGLIN--sells in the Peninsula Farm consignment at the 2010 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg this fall.

May 30, 2010--Chester, Pennsylvania
Jim's Guy scores in 1:49.3
Jim's Guy,
a 6-year-old son of June's Baby-Sundowner Lily-Artsplace, captured a $19,000 conditioned pace at Chester on May 30 in 1:49.3.  This fine pacer is trained by Bruce Lauer and was driven by George Napolitano, Jr. to a career best performance for owners Stormi And Bruiser Stable.  Peninsula Farm will sell Jim's Guy's Rocknroll Hanover half-sister--THE SUMMER WIND--at the 2010 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg this fall. 

May 28, 2010--Yonkers, New York
Bad Boy Billy wins Yonkers Open Trot
Bad Boy Billy,
a son of Boy Band--Moving To Glory--Moving Forward, scored a wire-to-wire effort in a $37,000 Open Trot on May 28 at Yonkers Raceway. Patrick Lachance was in the sulky for trainer John Duer as the 4-year-old gelding was clocked in a career best time of 1:56.1. Owned by William Weaver, Bad Boy Billy now has $206,791 in his lifetime bank account. The gelding was sold in the Peninsula Farm consignment at the 2009 Harrisburg Sale for $100,000.

May 28, 2010--East Rutheford, New York
Take My Picture & Flex The Muscle second in NJSS
Take My Picture,
a 3-year-old son of Classic Photo--Habit's Lady--Muscles Yankee, finished second in 1:54.4 in a $20,800 New Jersey Sire Stakes event on May 28 at The Big M. John Campbell was at the lines for trainer Taylor Gower and owners Joseph and Laurie Davino of New Jersey. The Davinos purchased Take My Picture for $35,000 at the 2008 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg out of the Peninsula Farm consignment. He was bred by the Status Stables. Peninsula will sell his Donato Hanover half-brother--LORD AND LADY--at the 2010 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg this fall.

Flex The Muscle also finished second in another $20,800 NJSS leg, trotting in 1:56.4. The 3-year-old son of Muscles Yankee--Alix Hall--Conway Hall pushed his career earnings to $184,595 in that start for owners Ray Schnittker (his trainer-driver), Jerry Silva and the Arden Homestead Stable. He was bred by the Silver Linden Farms of Indiana, and was sold in the Peninsula Farm consignment for $140,000 at the 2008 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg.

Woke Up Dreaming wins Maiden Trot at Pocono Downs
Woke Up Dreaming,
a 3-year-old daughter by Striking Sahbra-Bold Dreamer-Donerail, captured her first career start on May 25 at Pocono Downs, trotting in 1:59.3 for driver George Napolitano, Jr. Doug Miller trains the filly--who is a half-sister to world champion Pampered Princess 3,1:53 ($1.6 million) for William Weaver of Freehold, New Jersey. Woke Up Dreaming was bred by Valley High Stable and raised at Peninsula Farm. Her half brother--ROYAL LORD--by Andover Hall, will sell in the Peninsula Farm consignment at 2010 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg this fall.


May 23, 2010--Nichols, New York
Kentucky Wildcat wins Tioga Trot
Kentucky Wildcat, a son of Valley Victor--Expressive Chip--Pine Chip was driven by Brett Miller for trainer Pat Foley to a 1:56.1 clocking on May 23 at Tioga Downs in a $7,500 conditioned trot. Kentucky Wildcat was bred by Walstan Farm and sold by Peninsula in 2008 Lexington Select Sale for $30,000. He now has $45,611 in career earnings for the Hatfield Stables of Columbus, Ohio.


May 23, 2010--Nichols, New York
Homerun Hitter wins Tioga Trot
Homerun Hitter,
a sophomore son of Muscles Yankee-So So Chic--Sir Taurus, captured a $7,500 conditioned trot at Tioga Downs on May 23, drawing off by nearly 14 lengths for driver-trainer Ray Schnittker in 1:55.1. Homerun Hitter is owned by the Homerun Hitter Stable of Middletown, New York and was bred by Yankeeland Farms of Maryland. He was raised and sold by Peninsula Farm for $150,000 at the 2008 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg. Peninsula will sell his Andover Hall half brother REDCARPETTREATMENT at 2010 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg.

May 23, 2010--Ontario, Canada
Quantum Antonio Wins $37,600 OSS
Quantum Antonio,
a 3-year-old son of Angus Hall--Foreign Victory--Valley Victory, captured a $37,600 Ontarioi Sire Stakes test in 1:55.1 with David Miller at the lines on May 23 at Mohawk Raceway.  Trainer Bjorn Noren conditions the winner of $39,040 lifetime for Scuderia Giulano.  Quantum Starship was strong second in this same event for driver Trevor Ritchie and trainer Per Henricksen, and both horses will likely start in the rich final on May 31 at Mohawk.  Peninsula will sell the Donato Hanover three-quarter brother to Quantum Antonio at the 2010 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, named QUANTUM DOMINATOR.

Blacktuxwhitesocks third in New York Development Fund Trot
Blacktuxwhitesocks,
a 3-year-old son by Credit Winner--True Blue Victory--Valley Victory, finished third in a $12,500 New York Development Fund Trot on May 22 at Vernon Downs. Howard Okusko was in the sulky for trainer Jessica Okusko as the youngster pushed his lifetime earnings to $161,624 for The Purple Haze Stables of Fairport, New York. Blacktuxwhitesocks was bred by Valley High Stable and raised and sold by Peninsula Farm at the 2008 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg for $65,000.

May 22, 2010--East Rutherford, New Jersey
Shoobee's Place wins NJSS
Shooebee's Place, a 3-year-old son of Artsplace--Shoobeedobeedo--Jate Lobell, captured a $26,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes in 1:49.2 for driver David Miller and trainer Richard Norman on May 22 at The Meadowlands. WIth this first win of his sophomore career Shoobee's Place pushed his career earnings to $85,740 for owner-breeder David McDuffee. He was foaled and raised at Peninsula Farm.

May 22, 2010--The Poconos, Pennsylvania
Fred And Ginger Set Stakes Record
Fred And Ginger
established a new stakes record of 1:49.4 on May 22 at Pocono Downs in winning the $300,000 Max C. Hempt Memorial Pace for 3-year-old open colts and geldings pacers. The 3-year-old son by Real Artist--Graceful Motion--Beach Towel was driven by Dave Palone for trainer Ronnie Burke now has won three of five starts this season with one second-place finish and one third-place finish. Fred And Ginger is owned by Howard Taylor, Robert Feldman, Edwin Gold and the Exquisite Stables, and was bred by Ron Mersky and sold by Peninsula Farm for $65,000 at the 2008 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale. The 1:49.4 bested the old stakes record by Badlands Nitro of 1:50 established in May of 2008. This also was a new life mark for Fred And Ginger.

Take My Picture Second in Mr Muscleman
Take My Picture,
a 3-year-old son of Classic Photo--Habit's Lady--Muscles Yankee, finished second by a neck in the $52,000 Mr Muscleman Stake at The Meadowlands on May 21. Andy Miller was in the sulky for trainer Taylor Gower and owners Joseph and Laurie Davino of New Jersey. The Davinos purchased Take My Picture at the 2008 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg for $35,000 out of the Peninsula Farm consignment. He was bred by the Status Stables. Peninsula will sell his Donato Hanover half-brother at the 2010 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg christened LORD AND LADY.

May 21, 2010--East Rutherford, New Jersey
The Chancellor Wins in 1:53
The Chancellor
, a 4-year-old son of Yankee Glide--Prime Mistress--Super Bowl, scored a rousing 1:53 career best victory in a $21,000 conditioned trot at The Big M on May 21. Andy Miller was in the sulky for his wife, trainer Julie Miller. He is owned by the Andy Miller Stable and the Arden Homestead Stable and now has $464,506 in career earnings. The Chancellor was sold by Peninsula Farm for $32,000 at the 2007 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale and his Cantab Hall half-brother--BEER SUMMIT--will sell at the Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg this fall.


May 15, 2010--Vernon, New York
Whata Winner wins Simpson Memorial
Whata Winner, a 3-year-old altered son of Credit Winner--Whatta Chippie--Pine Chip, captured the John F. Simpson Memorial Trot in 1:55, a new career mark. Trainer Jim Doherty--who also owns the trotter--was at the lines for owners Thomas Dillon and Terrax, Inc. Whata Winner also captured two stakes as a freshman, earning $33,319 for these same connections. Whata Winner was bred by the George Shotly Stable and sold in the Peninsula Farm consignment at the 2008 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale for $165,000. Peninsula Farm will sell Whata Winner's Andover Hall half-brother--WHATA BUZ--at the 2010 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.


May 14, 2010--Yonkers, New York
Open Trot Winners have Srong Peninsula Connections
The first four finishers in Yonker's Open Trot on May 14 all have strong connections to Peninsula Farm.

The race winner, Hurrikanebiggeorge, a 4-year-old son of Tagliabue--Over The Border--Angus Hall, stopped the timer in 1:57.2 for trainer John McDermott and driver Stephan Bouchard. This winner of $220,789 lifetime was bred by Peninsula Farm and Jules & Arlene Siegel and was sold in the Peninsula Farm yearling consignment at the 2007 Pennsylvania Preffered Sale for $7,500.

The second (Victors Vicky) and fourth (Justa Rebel) place finishers are both by Peninsula's top trotting stallion Valley Victor, while Bad Boy Billy, who finished third for trainer John Duer and driver Pat Lachance, was sold in the Peninsula Farm consignment at the 2009 Harrisburg Sale for $100,000 for Michael Andrew and was purchased by new owner William Weaver.

On The Glass wins in 1:49
On The Glass,
a 4-year-old daughter of Art Major--Abbey Won--The Panderosa, captured the $32,000 Mares Invitational at The Meadowlands in a career best 1:49 on May 14.  Ronnie Burke trainers On The Glass for owners Joesph DiScala, Jr. &  Cynthia Massari of New York.  This mare was bred by John & Linda Glassford and sold by Peninsula as a yearling at 2007 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg for $12,000.  On The Glass now has $311,513 in career earnings for these connections.


May 14, 2010--The Poconos, Pennsylvania
August Revenue Lowers Career Mark
August Revenue
lowered her lifetime mark to 1:54 on May 14 at Pocono Downs, winning for the second straight time in two weeks and establishing her as the season's leading trotting mare on a five-eights mile track. This 4-year-old daughter of Revenue S--Mrs August--Mr Vic was steered by Mike Simons for trainer John Duer to a near ten-length victory in the $9,500 conditioned trot. Owned by Annette Roydon and Jeffrey Rose of Vermont and Maine, August Revenue now has $52,317 in career earnings. She was bred by Malhana Farm and sold by Peninsula at the 2007 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale for $16,000.



May 8-2010--Freehold, New Jersey
Flex The Muscle wins Dexter Cup
Flex The Muscle captured the $156,000 Dexter Cup for 3-year-old trotters by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:56.2 at Freehold Raceway on Saturday, May 8. Driven by David Miller for trainer Ray Schnitker, Flex The Muscle is undefeated in two races this year. He won five of 13 starts in 2009 and has earned $179,395 in his career.

“That was a good mile and he did it very handy,” Miller said about the son of Muscles Yankee--Alix Hall--Conway Hall. “The horse raced very well. He got a great trip, a two-hole trip, and I never had to move until the head of the stretch. He felt very strong the whole mile and he won very easy.”

Flex The Muscles is owned by Schnittker, Jerry Silva and Arden Homestead Stable, and will race next in the New Jersey Sire Stakes at the Meadowlands. He was bred by the Silver Linden Farms of Indiana, and was sold in the Peninsula Farm consignment at the 2008 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg for $140,000.

The Dexter Cup is the season’s first major stakes race for Flex The Muscle, whose connections hope to see him go postward in the $1.5 million Hambletonian, the sophomore trotting division’s top prize, on Aug. 7 at The Meadowlands.

Fred And Ginger, a 3-year-old son by Real Artist--Graceful Motion--Beach Towel, finished second in the $220,000 Berry's Creek Final on May 7 at The Big M. Drivven by Tim Tetrick for trainer Ronnie Burke, Fred And Ginger was clocked in 1:52.1 with a :27.1 final brush. His earning now stand at $138,422 for owners Howard Taylor, Robert Feldman, Edwin Gold and the Exquisite Stables. Fred And Ginger was bred by Ron Mersky and sold by Peninsula Farm for $65,000 at the 2008 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale

Peninsula Duo Wins at The Big M
Peninsula Farm
had a pair of 3-year-old trotting colts hit the winners circle on May 7 at The Meadowalnds.

Frankie Can, by Cantab Hall--Naked Lyric--Yankee Glide won a $10,000 test in 1:57.4 for the Big M's leading driver George Brennan. John Coughlin trains the winner of $12,102 lifetime for owner Frank J Ottaviano of New York. Frankie Can was bred by Peninsula Farm and Allevamento Cristal, and sold for $47,000 in the Peninsula Farm consignment at the 2008 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg.

Stimulus, by Credit Winner--The Temptress--Malabar Man, captured an $11,500 conditioned trot in 1:55.3 for driver Daniel Dube. The winner of $10,500 lifetime is trained by Jimmy Takter for owners Christina Takter, John Fielding and Falkbolegan AB. This colt was bred by Peninsula Farm and the Arden Homestead Stable and sold for $65,000 at the 2008 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale. His Yankee Glide half-sister--FANCY HOOF STEPS--will sell in the Peninsula Farm consignment at the 2010 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

Ellen's Isle Wins Career Debut at The Big M
Ellen's Isle
, a sophomore duaghter by Windsong's Legacy--Shan Riches--Armbro Goal, captured her career debut at The Meadowlands on May 6 in 1:56, drawing off by eight lengths with Andy Miller at the lines for trainer Lisa Pavia, who conditions the filly for owner Joe Krizan of New Egypt, New Jersey. Ellen's Isle was bred by Stirling Brook Farm and was sold by Peninsula Farm for $32,000 at the 2008 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

May 4, 2010--Poconos, Pennsylvania
Homrun Hitter Second in Wyoming Valley Trot Final
Homerun Hitter,
a 3-year-old son of Muscles Yankee--So So Chic--Sir Taurus, finished second in the $35,000 Wyoming Valley Trot in 1:56.3 at The Poconos. The winner of $67,643 is trained and driven by Ray Schnittker for the Homerun Hitter Stables of Middletown, New York. Homerun HItter sold for $150,000 in the Peninsula Farm consignment at the 2008 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg, and his Andover Hall half-brother--REDCARPETTREATMENT--sells in the Peninsula consignment at the 2010 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg.



May 1, 2010--Yonkers, New York
Peninsula Graduates Finish One-Two
Ginger And Fred captured the Blue Chip Matchmaker Final Free For All for fillies and mares on May 1 at Yonkers Raceway, clocked in 1:52 for driver Tim Tetrick and trainer Ronnie Burke.  The 4-year-old daughter of Real Artist--Graceful Motion--Beach Towel now has career earnings of $1,070,578 and a sophomore record of 1:50.3f for owners Howard Taylor, Robert Feldman, Edwin Gold and Jerry Silva.  In 2010 she's amassed $206,800 from 11 starts, with three wins, a pair of seconds and a pair of thirds.  Ginger And Fred was sold by Peninsula in the 2007 Lexington Selected Sale for $25,000 for breeder Ron Mersky.

Shangai Lil finished a strong second in this same event to Ginger And Fred for driver Stephane Bouchard and trainer Mark Ford and was clocked in 1:53.  The 4-year-old daughter by Jenna's Beach Boy--Wonderbolt--Artsplace now has $830,828 in career earnings for owners All Star Racing of New Jersey.  Shangai Lil was bred, raised and sold by Peninsula Farm in 2007 Lexington Selected Sale also for $45,000.
