October 30, 2008--Melrose Park, Illinois
Valley Victors Finish First & Second in Maywood Stake
A pair of Valley Victor progeny finished first and second in a Maywood Park stake on Thursday night, October 30.  Supreme Victor used a wire-to-wire effort in the $12,500 Life's A Holiday Stake with driver Sam Widger at the lines for trainer Brett Wilfong.  The 3-year-old son of Vallley Victory--Miss Noble Hustle--Noble Hustle stopped the timer in 1:59, drawing off by over seven lengths as he notched his fifth win in 20 career starts. That win pushed Supreme Victor's career earnings to $22,229.  Rival Maxter (Valley Victor--Oprah--Big Sur) finished second for driver Ryan Anderson and trainer Roger Welch and pushed his sophomore seasonal earnings to $228,560. Maxter's career bankroll now stands at a hefty $386,765 for the winner of nearly every major Illinois-bred stake at both 2 and 3.

October 29, 2008--Pompano Beach, Florida
Battleshoe Victor wins in 1:57
Battleshoe Victor, a son of Valley Victor--B Crysta--Crysta's Crown, captured a winner's over trot at Pompano Park in 1:57 on October 29. Reined by Anthony Napolitano for trainer Tom Harmer, the 6-year-old chestnut gelding now has $56,079 in his seasonal coffers and $238,514 lifetime earned for owner Michael Polanksy of New York.

October 29, 2008--Dover Downs
Victor's Vicky Wins at Dover
Victor's Vicky, a 5-year-old brown daughter of Valley Victor--Deaconess Hanover--Sierra Kosmos, won an $18,000 conditioned trot at Dover on October 29 with driver Corey Callahan at the controls. Richard Johnson trains Victor's Vicky the winner of $223,372 lifetime for the Fabulous Farms of Glen Ridge, New Jersey.

Sauce Two K Wins at Dover
Sauce Two K,
a 4-year-old altered son of Valley Victor--Colors Of The Wind--Master Willie, stormed to a 1:57 clocking on October 29 at Dover Downs, in rein to driver Corey Callahan in a top conditioned trot.  Richard Johncon has conditioned the brown gelding to seasonal earnings of $146,391 and career earnings of $159,383 for the Fabulous Farms of Glen Ridge, New Jersey.

October 26, 2008--Crete, Illinois
Miss Vickie Wins Sarah Myers
Miss Vickie trotted to victory in the $28,000 Sarah Myers Stake on October 26 at Balmoral Park. The daughter of Valley Victor--WIllie Nillie--Master Willie notched her sixth win of the season in 1:57.1 for driver Brandon Simpson and trainer Robert Taylor, who owns the freshman filly in partnership with Kevin Dixon of Tennessee. She now has $116,815 in career earnings from just nine lifetime starts. Her rival, Overt (Valley Victor--Writtenonthewind--Super Ben Joe finished second in that same race for driver Joshua Sutton and trainer Roger Welch.

Peninsula Sells Forest City Sale Topper

Peninsula Farm sold the highest priced yearling at the Forest City Sale on October 19 at the Western Fair Agriplex in Ontario, Canada! Hip #25--REACH HIGHER--a Striking Sahbra 3,1:56.M ($217,492) half-brother to Raising Rachel, 2,1:58.l ($168,109 in 2008)---sold for $140,000--the highest priced yearling of the sale. As well, Peninsula Farm had the highest average of all sales agents with a whopping $31,938!

Badlands Nitro Second in Windy City Pace
Badlands Nitro scored a tough, hard-fought second in the $275,000 Windy City Pace at Maywood Park on Friday night, October 10, finishing just a nose behind the winning Shadow Play. The son of Badlands Hanover--Pleasant Thoughts--Artsplace was steered by Brian Sears for trainer George Teague, Jr to his fourth, runner-up finish of 2008, pushing his seasonal earnings to $1,353,184. The sophomore bay horse with the big white blaze is owned by John Celii and Teague, Inc., and now has $1,499,088 in his career bankroll.His three-quarter brother--Hip #336--SHUTTER SPEED--will sell in the Peninsula Farm consignment at Harrisburg, Nov. 3-8, 2008.

October 6, 2008--Flamboro Downs
Dornello Four for Four in Grassroots Competition
Dornello
captured a $20,000 first divison of the Grass Roots Stake with a gate to wire victory in 1:59.3 for driver Trevor Ritchie at Flamboro Downs on Oct. 7, 2008. The daughter of Angus Hall picked up her fourth win in as many tries this year in Grass Roots competition for trainer Mark Steacy. The 3-year-old filly now has five wins and a second in 13 starts this year and $60,000 in earnings for owners Joseph Myers of Holland, PA and Linda Worrell of Warminster, PA. Dornello was bred, raised and sold by Peninsula Farm at the 2006 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale for $75,000. Peninsula Farm will be offering a Muscles Yankee filly out of the 100% producing mare Doyenne--a half-sister to Dornello--Hip #338 GOLD MEDAL POWER--at the Harrisburg Sale, Nov. 3-8, 2008.


October 6, 2008--Flamboro Downs
Valley Courtney Point Leader in Grassroots Division
Valley Courtney
maintained her status as Grassroots divisional point leader by scoring a six and one-half length victory in 2:00 at Flamboro Downs on Oct 6. Stephen Byron steered the Striking Sahbra sophomore for trainer John Bax of Peterborough, who co-owns Valley Courtney along with Oshawa resident Harry Locke. She now has five wins, a second and a third form 14 trips postward in 2008, and $66,170 in seasonal earnings. Valley Courtney was raised and sold by Peninusla at 2006 Harrisburg sale for $50,000. Peninsula Farm will be selling the first foal, a filly, out of a half-sister to Valley Courtney by Broadway Hall--Hip #1026 ON THE GOGO--at Harrisburg on Nov. 3-8, 2008.


October 3, 2008--Lexington, Kentucky
One Tough Lass Wins Kentucky Filly Futurity
One Tough Lass, a 3-year-old daughter by Muscles Yankee--Timberlassie--Pine Chip, trotted to a 1:52.4 victory in The Kentucky Filly Futurity on October 3 at The Red Mile. Tim Tetrick was in the sulky for trainer Ross Croghan and owners Jon Erdner and William Neumeister. One Tough Lass is a full sister to Workout Doll 3, 1:55.2 ($194,515) and Spinning Class 3, 1:56.4 ($56,351) and sold for $45,000 at the 2006 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale. Her full brother, TRIATHOLON CHAMP,will sell in the Peninsula Farm consignement at the Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg, Nov. 3-8, 2008.

I'll Wait For You Wins Gold Final
I'll Wait For You,
a 2-year-old daughter by Kadabra--Blue Cookie--Baltic Speed, captured a $131,600 Gold Final on October 3 at Rideau Carlton in Ontario, Canada. The filly was clocked in 2:01 for driver Trevor Ritchie and trainer Daniel Creighton, who conditions I'll Wait For You for owners Danterra Racing Stable of Strathroy, Ontario. I'll Wait For You was bred, raised and sold by Peninsula Farm at the 2007 Forest City Yearling Sale for $62,000 and her Valley Victor half-brother--GET MORE BLUE--sells at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, October 1-5, 2008.

October 1-2008--Crete, Illinois

Valley Victors Capture Lady Lincoln Land Stake & Consolation
Miss Vickie
(Valley Victor--Willie Nillie--Master Willie) captured the $133,000 Lady Lincoln Land Stakes at Balmoral Park on October 1 in 1:57.1. This speedy 2-year-old filly was in rein to Brandon Simpson for trainer Robert Taylor who owns her in partnership with Kevin Dixon. In the $19,000 Lady Lincoln Land Consolation, it was Lekka (Valley Victor--Smoke’N Snafu--Snafu) stealing the show in 2:00.2 with driver Mike Oosting at the lines for trainer Nelson Willis and owners Cynthia Kay Willis, Robert Rietveld, and Jack Dorn.
