June 30, 2008--Chester Celebrity Juliet Stakes Placed in PASS Celebrity Juliet won her baby race at The Meadowlands on June 14, in 1:59.1, and followed that up with a 2:00.4 clocking by virtue of her third-place finish in a Pennsylvania Sires Stakes event on June 30 at Chester Downs. Tim Tetrick was at the controls for trainer Staffan Lind and owner Celebrity Farms of New York. The daughter of Cantab Hall--Naked Lyric--Yankee Glide has a full brother named Hair, who will be selling at the Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg, Nov. 3-8, 2008.
June 29, 2008--Flamboro Downs, Canada Chief Of The Beach Wins in 1:56.2h Chief Of The Beach--who was foaled, raised and sold by Peninsula Farm--scored a 1:56.2h victory at Flamboro Downs for driver Brad Forward and trainer Carl Jamieson in the $45,219 Bud Lite Stake for 2-year-old pacing colts. The son of Real Desire--Beachy Lady--Jenna's Beach Boy was making his career debut for owners Carl Jamieson and Ken Henwood of Ontario, Canada. The time was a season's mark for a 2-year-old pacing colt on a half-mile track.
June 28, 2008--Georgian Downs, Canada Delphic Captures $118,800 Ontario Sires Stakes The sophomore trotting filly Delphic captured a $118,800 Ontario Sires Stakes test in a career best of 1:57.1 at Georgian Downs in Canada on June 28. Randy Waples was in the sulky for trainer Rene Laarman and owners Melvin Hartman, and John & Jim Fielding of Ontario. This daughter by Striking Sahbra, out of the Mr Vic mare Mrs August was raised and sold by Peninsula Farm. Delphic has amassed a record of 4-4-4 from 19 career starts and has $344,978 in career earnings.
June 26, 2008--Hawthorne Race Course Most Remarkeable Breaks Maiden at HRC Most Remarkable broke his maiden in a $6,000 conditioned pace at Hawthorne on July 26 with Dale Hiteman in the sulky. Trained by Tom Simmons, this son of Dragon Again--Remarkable Star--Jate Lobell tripped the timer in 1:55.3 for owners Rick McGraw, James Stieren and Benita Simmons of Illinois. Most Remarkable's half-brother by Cambest--named Remarkable Cam--sells in the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale on Oct. 1-5, 2008.
June 14, 2008--East Rutherford, New Jersey Hurrikanebiggeorge Wins Baby Race at The Big M Hurrikanebiggeorge won his baby race at The Meadowlands on June 14 in rein to Daniel Dube for trainer-owner John McDermott in 2:03.1. This fine son of Tagliabue--Over The Border--Angus Hall was bred, raised and sold in the Peninsula Farm consignment at the 2007 Pennsylvania Prefered Sale at Harrisburg.
June 10, 2008--Lexington, Kentucky Barry Joins Peninsula Jim Barry has joined the staff of Peninsula Farm and will be coordinating the sale of horses for Peninsula on both a public and private basis. Barry has been involved in the harness racing industry since 1977. He previously owned and operated The Standardbred Exchange Sale in Illinois, then worked for Andy Grant's New York-based Bradford Bloodstock in the 1980s.
