July 1, 2010~East Rutherford, New Jersey Leader Of The Gang Wins Harriman Cup Division
 Leader Of The Gang & driver Ron Pierce Lisa Photo Leader Of The Game, a 2-year-old son by Muscles Yankee-Fraulien Bluestone-Angus Hall, won his second straight race en route to capturing a $44,100 division of the Harriman Cup for freshman colt and gelding trotters on July 1 at The Meadowlands. Driven by Ron Pierce, Leader Of The Gang, stopped the timer in 1:56.2 for conditioner Jimmy Takter, establishing himself as a season’s leader. The youngster is owned by Christina Takter, Brixton Medical AB, Joyce McClelland and RAW Equine, Inc. Leader Of The Gang was bred by Herb Liverman, and was foaled, raised and sold by Peninsula Farm at the 2009 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg for $170,000.
July 1, 2010~East Rutherford, New Jersey Cathywithac Wins in Career Best 1:57.4
Cathywithac, a sophomore filly by Yankee Glide-Carrigan Hall-Conway Hall, captured an $11,000 conditioned trot at The Meadowlands, clocked in a lifetime best 1:57.4 on July 1 with George Brennan at the controls for trainer Jan Johnson. The speedy 3-year-old pushed her career earnings to $53,294 with the victory, the second of her career. Cathywithac was bred by the Valley High Stable of Freehold, New Jersey, and was raised and sold in the Peninsula Farm consignment at the 2008 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg for $92,000. Her full brother—THE NEGOTIATOR—will sell at the 2010 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg this fall.
July 1, 2010~Ontario, Canada Hard Cider wins Mohawk Trot Hard Cider, a 3-year-old son of Yankee Glide-Applecider Hanover-SJ’s Photo, won a $16,490 conditioned trot at Mohawk Raceway on July 1 in 1:56 for driver Trevor Ritchie and trainer Harold Lunde. The winner of $24,138 is owned by Lars-Goren Jonsson of Sweden and was bred by the Valley High Stable. Hard Cider was raised and sold by Peninsula Farm for $45,000 at the 2008 Standardbred Horse Sale at Harrisburg. |
